Saving Chris P. Bacon

This book is the result of the final task of the ESL Pedagogy: teaching young children course. In tandem with my peers, we have designed a book and a learning and evaluation situation for elementary ESL students. The four-period LES includes an original song with flashcards, an arts and crafts activity, and even a game! Students also get to learn vocabulary associated to sea animals, the sea, and much more!

Extreme sports webquest

I developed this webquest specifically for my sports-concentration secondary III groups. This three-period webquest was easy to use when school went online and touched on all three competencies evenly by proposing comprehension activities from reading texts and watching videos, writing activities by asking students to write an opinion text, and finally an oral communication activity in which students get in groups of four and take turns sharing their opinions on extreme sports.

Terry Fox and the Marathon of Hope

This comic strip is part of an LES developed by myself and my collaborators, Félix M and Tomy T. Along with its worksheet, this activity is aimed at cycle 1 secondary students, but an alternate version was also produced for English intensive elementary students. This activity can also be used as a standalone comprehension buffer, and is unavoidable to expose young students to one of the most recognizable Canadian icons.

Various oral communication support material

I like to create visual support that helps students talk with their peers. By looking at the board, students have access to prompts and modeling. They also have vocabulary and visuals that spur their imagination and help them get ideas. Here is an example of a support to help students use modals. These materials are aimed at different levels but can generally be used across all high school levels. Here's another example to get students to use the future tense when talking.
